Happy 1st Birthday!
Oh this kid. I can NOT believe this year flew by as fast as it did. I still remember his momma telling me she was pregnant. I remember his oldest sister insisting she knew he was a going to be a boy. There was not a doubt in her mind.
That whole summer seemed to be one of our hottest yet, and I remember his momma looking so uncomfortable, but I never once, heard her complain. She honestly wore pregnancy like it was no big deal.
When he was born and momma asked me to do newborn photos, I totally jumped at the chance. 1. because, um, cute squishy baby?! Yes please! and 2. because I like the idea that I did maternity photos of him in momma's belly and now I get a chance to do photos outside in this big, bright world of ours.
I've absolutely adored not only watching this little man grow up, but watching how almost effortless momma made the transition look from 2 kiddos to 3. Seriously, she was like superwoman. I am still in awe of how easy she makes it look (even though I know she is really working her butt off every single second.)
Of course once his birthday started coming around, I was really hoping she would ask me to do a smash cake session for this kiddo. I am more than thankful that I get to watch him grow up next door, but even more so that I now get to photograph it too.
This boy is so full of life. He is always smiling and always busy doing something. You can see in his eyes he is constantly trying to learn new things- which is totally going to drive mom and dad nuts- trust me. He has this love for his sisters that a mother and father could only hope for and dream about. If he isn't snuggled up to momma, he is busy figuring out how to run off and play somewhere. Now that he really has a handle on walking, its a constant battle to run after him. He gives the BEST high fives, and he always seems to know when you need a snuggle.
This boy is really going to do some amazing things in life. He will most definitely be a handful but in the best sort of way. Mom and Dad, you are doing an amazing job with this guy.
Happist of Birthdays little man,

P.s. I absolutely love shooting smash cake sessions, and it was so much fun working with Momma to design this shoot. If you are thinking about doing one of these sessions, please contact me! I would absolutely love to have fun with you and your little one. Smash cakes, are fun, and messy and full of laughter and usually a few tears- mostly from Mom. ;)
